Booking well in advance is advised. Highclere is open for between 60 and 70 days each year. Highclere is open for two weeks over Easter, for each of the May Bank holidays, and for two months (Sunday to Thursday) over the summer months. Highclere is also open for a few days in early December and these December days are already sold out.

As seen in the famous series, the Cotswold village used as Downton village and the external view of the home of Mathew Crawley and the Church can additionally be visited on the same day. Also where the village fair and hospitals scenes were made. Possibility of having tea at Byfleet Manor, the scene of Dowager Violets house. The tea session is expensive, has to be arranged well in advance and is to be purchased as an extra item.
